On April 29, the International (World) Dance Day is celebrated. The day has been celebrated since 1982 by UNESCO’s decision on the birthday of French choreographer Jean-Georges Nover, a choreographer reformer and theoretician, who goes into history as “the father of contemporary ballet”.

On this day, the entire dance world celebrates its professional holiday – theater operas and ballets, modern dances, contemporary ballet and folk dances ensembles and others, both professional and amateur artists, dancers who love music and dancing. The World Day of Dance gathers dancers from different countries around the world to celebrate the universal nature of art, to skip all political, cultural and ethnic barriers and to bring people into peace and friendship thanks to a common language: the language of dance.
